Wii Playing Injuries

has anyone ever had any injuries from playing Wii? I have. I was playing tennis and swung and lost control and stacked it into a cupboard, I flung the remote at my boyfriend's face, i hit the over-hanging swinging lamp, amd i've spilt my drink on the table next to the TV and tried to stop it and cut my wrist on the ring-pull. I'm surprised we weren't told to sign a personal injury contract pon purchasing the Wii!

I got attacked by my brother's dog because of the Wii. My brother was not paying attention and hit me in the face with the controller, so I knocked him onto his back (he cannot stand, so he was only kneeling). It was a way of keeping him from doing it again and is the same way I put him on his back when I put his leg braces and shoes on. The dog must have thought I was attacking my brother and started biting my arm. He pierced my skin 10 times on my arm and it is still black and blue after almost two weeks. A week late the dog started nipping me when my brother was up on his knees hugging me. Now my brother is afraid to touch me when the dog is nearby, as he does not want me to get hurt again. After this experience I really think the dog is going to have to go, as I really do not think he can pass the test to be a guide dog and be of use to my brother and that is the only reason why we have the dog. We have had him over a year and he was already two when we got him. He has proved pretty untrainable, as he cannot even follow simple commands such as sit and stay. [kjscrafts]

i think you need some more accurancy when you play, lol [morph3us]

Well the accidents usually only happen when there's alcohol involved. Funny that. [coffeeshot]

I pulled every single muscle in my body the first week I had my wii. Other than that, Ive been pretty lucky not to break anything. My roommate accidentally was bowling and hit my dog. He didnt get hurt or anything, he was just a little startled. [Carissimo]
ha that's kind of funny. poor dog. i've hit a few people in the head too, but luckily, i haven't actually let go of the wii remote and smashed the tv yet :-) [coffeeshot]

I guess this console always get it first victim. I remember playing Playstation too long and my left thumb was so pain. Thanks God they found the analog. [Neo_Knights]

I suffer from some major over enthusiam when I play the Wii. Luckily, I have not lost hold of the remote, but I do seem to hold the remote in this frightening death grip. Seriously, my fingers start to hurt. Then, since I try so hard, I always end up feeling a bit sore after playing certain days. I've been known to play games over and over until my arm starts to shake. Then my boyfriend has to come over and take the controller away and make sure I take a break. [krebstar5]

Nothing major YET!! I was very achy the day after xmas though. Spent almost all day playing the sports game that comes with the Wii. It was the most exercise I'd had in quite some time. Tons of fun though. [inked4life]

The first week I pulled a muscle in my arm playing tennis. Other than that I have been O.K. My buddy was boxing once though, and acidentally nailed his dog. [link2000]

I keep hearing about all these people getting hut playing Wii, or throwing the controller across the room.... breaking things, getting hurt. What I keep wondering is why people play it? WHy not play REAL tennis? Or REAL golf? Why not go outside and play a real sport? Just curious... I'd rather go outside and play - sounds a lot safer! [cassidy22]
