well i have seen the spec and let me tell u i think they were more int in making a console which can handle piracy rather than givin enjoyment we cant have pirated cds and blue ray is dam cvostly it will not have a good response in india i would rather go for x box 360 its good dvds and also i can get pirated cds you why ps2 was a hit cause the games for ps2 were easily available on stores and so many people thought of buying the console [amitavroy]

yeah,running linux with the speed of a p3 800 :D Read some reviews around...you'll find that u can't access @ the dsp and @ the gpu...so,u have only one GP unit for GP programs...that performs like a p3. Still happy of your cheep pc? :) [deejlux]
here do you get that info? the videos doesn't show that! and you can try to build a P3 functional pc, whit a blueray reader, a 3d card capable of display 8 heavy videos, capeble of playing games at HD quality. and that kind of sheat in the space of a PS3, and then tell me the price. and the linux core that was test was build before the ps3 has put a step outside the sony factory. that tells a diferent story! very touchy subject i cant stand the ps3, its way to expensive for a casual gamer. also it has lost alot of exclusive titles that have been released to the xbox 360, it really is not much better than the 360 for way more money you could almost buy a nintendo wii and an xbox 360 for the price of a ps3, also who ever decided 7 controller spaces what a random number u go with 6 or 8 not 7 what were they thinking. also everyone is so excited it still plays ps2 games but sony also said b/c of the blu ray disc player it may not play them all and it plays some of them differently and not as well, so your not even garunteed that they all work on it! I have one and played it a couple times and it froze up on me and I had to send it back to Sony. I was really mad that I paid that much for it and it went to crap already. Well they next day air'd a empty box for me to put it in with a Next day air label to ship it back to them. So I sent it back that day I received the empty box. (that was on a wednesday) By Friday I had a new PS3 at my door as they had next day air'd the new one to me. The new one works fine and I like it. And I was impressed that they took care of my problem really fast. If I have any more problems I will post. The real kicker is I had an XBOX 360 that died on me (3 lights of death) two weeks before the PS3 problem and I had to send that back for repair. They sent me a reconditioned one after about a week. I ended up not even opening the replacement and I sold it on ebay. But it was a rough month for my gaming systems!! [danbumpy]
