games are like my vent, u know something i do, because i'm passionate for it and it's also my out from the world when things get rough.
of course, u can never explain this to a non gamer.

First, I tell them that I'm not wasting my time. 2nd, I tell them at least I don't do drugs. 3rd, It improves my driving skills (hand ey coordination and improved reaction time). 4th It is now cool to play video games. 5th, playing video games sure beats beating up the scrawny kid next door. and last but not the least, you're only saying that because you can beat me in Halo. I miss Halo. I sold my 'box because I didn't have anyone to play with. My gamer buddies ditched me when I started dating one of them's ex. Then I married his ex. That marked the death knell for my halo days. 'tis sad. [MrCoolantSpray]
i just say, you just wasted your time by telling me i wasted my time because you know i won't stop playing, and my games are what keep me sane, with all the pressure form school and stuff i need to relax and games help me do that. [momus8]

I like this one, my parents ask me that all the time... well actually the grown ups in our home ask me that even my relatives but I did not bother listening to them and just let em pass through my ears. And this is the only thing where I'm really good at. Playing video games occupies my mind a lot and keeps me away from thinking about my problems. Study? I study for an hour then play for 3 hrs then study again for an hour then another 3 hrs of playing. And my answer is "getting addicted to video games is much better than getting addicted to drugs lol" hehehe [b1n6_bosdak]

I just tell them that the guys who develop games are much older and smarter than i am so why not go ask them why they came up with such a novel idea. Then i round up by saying "why are you bugging me anyway? you dont see me come bugging you when you're handling your business in the bathroom, do you?" That usually shuts them up! [Lushous]

In my case no one is saying that, thank God. But If their is someone who says that im wasting time playing video games, I would respond NO! ^_^ Same as you vega83. Playing video games is hobby to me and I can't live without it. Non gamers haven't taste the power of being a gamer. They are not flexible enough to play video games. As for me, I don't care if anyone tells me I'm wasting my time. Because that our passion, us gamers! You, me and any gamers out there. ^_^ [tidus1305]

Games are my anti-drug, as corny as that sounds. Better than booze. When I'm stressed out and feeling angry, Tekken is the answer. Bored, Kingdom Hearts. Needing a deep story but don't feel like going to the library--Metal Gear. When people whine about me playing games, I let them moan, and give it up for a while. I get so surly from withdrawal, that they pretty much beg me to start playing them again. Most importantly, games are my escape. Some people garden, some smoke pot, some crochet. Gaming is not a waste of time. We are improving on our hand/eye coordination and increasing our tactical stategizing abilities. I am not usually very nice to those people who say its a waste of time. If somebody asked me "why are you wasting your time playing games?" My response would be something like "Why are YOU wasting perfectly good oxygen by breathing?" LOL [zukepr]
Well, since my whole family plays games, I don't have this problem. Both my folks are avid gamers, and have been since the first game system ever came out. So my sister and I were raised in a gaming environment. As most of my friends are also gamers, I've never actually had anyone ask me why I was wasting time with them. Well, since I don't have much time to spend playing I just play some shooter here and there to relax but when my parents asked my when I was younger I just used to say the normally thing... just for fun, after all isn't it why we all play them? [ownado]
i dont think i am waisting my time playing games..different games give u diff kindz of + stuffs to u...Take "NFS most wanted",u r actually learning how to take turns at the specified speed.Take counter strike,u learn to take some defence steps in the real world...taking games commonly,it increases the level of concentration. Well when someone asks that, if you know them well enough to know their interests ask them "why do you waste your time watching tv, seeing movies, playing cards, playing pool" whatever their interest is. if not find out ask them what hobby or interest they have besides feeding the poor, building housing for the homeless, healing the sick, and bringing about world peace, restoring the ecological system, saving endangered species, Since they obviously do not waste their time on anything they must be very busy taking care of all those things, ask them how much longer before they get those issues cleared up so it will be ok for you have fun, relaxing doing something you enjoy so you don't stress your self to the point of losing your mind and becoming a burden to society won't be a waste of time. Ok sarcasm is given when people ask ridiculous questions, but honestly how many people waste their time in pursuits that don't interest you, then ask you why are you wasting your time... Let them know their hobbies might be fun for them, but they would be a waste of time for you. [nowment]
