I'm picky about video games I play and want to at least be playing a really good or great game. Other people just seem to be happy playing all kinds of video games. I've become more of a critic since i've been playing video games for so long.

I would rather have a few great games than a bunch of crappy ones. They're just more fun, and you will actually feel like you're doing something enjoyable, instead of just playing a bad game so you don't feel like you wasted your money on it. I have a few not-so-good games, and I very rarely play them. Maybe once or twice, but if I don't like a game, I don't play it - I've got others. [Toony182]

Yup, The same here. I would be kinda disappointed to buy a game randomly at a store, go back home, start play it and see it's not my cup of tea. I mean a new game is averagely 50 bucks so i will take the time to check online about it and see how it is first. [Cannonball]
i use to be more easily intrested. i use to judge games by their cover or the back of them and usually i was happy. [elmiko]

no et games here huh such as the atari game ET where they buried over 500,000 copies out in the desert because of trying to make a cheap buck. [elmiko]
I play games on my computer, but I have never played a video game on a regular gaming system. I have one here that my grandchildren play when they come to visit and I have watched them play. My coordination I don't think would be good enough to move all those buttons and joy stick at the same time....lol [OLIJULSAR]
i'm intrested into playing pc games but the pc i have is not a gaming pc and probably would not be good enough for online. i've played some game emulators. its really cool because theres classic console games you can play direct on the pc. [elmiko]
Well, I'm pretty picky when it comes to quality. I wouldn't touch a third-rate game with a 10 foot pole. But I'm not picky about the type of game...I'll play anything as long as it catches my interest. [saffrondreams]

i cant get into a lot of games now a days so i guess i would be a picky one.. i like only a few rpg's and i like puzzle ones and shooter ones etc but i dont know some times they are too much plot/video type and not enough playing to where i get bored easy [moonlitmagikchild]

That depends upon what your definition of a great video game is. What a great video game is to one may not be so great to someone else. I do not play any game that has war or war themes I do like Mario games where you shoot plants and made up creatures. I also like mahjong and solitaire card games. [teapotmommommerced]
I'm pretty picky about my games too. I tend to only buy the best of the best. If the quality isn't there I can't waste my time playing it. I def agree 5 great games > 30 random generic games any day. I feel ya on becoming a critic too. [Meegs23]
no ET games here either. i wonder who ever liked the et atari game. i've never played it but the only reason i would to actually see how bad it really was. the original was so bad that they never even tried to remake it with the same name. [elmiko]
Well, I've been playing games for a long time as well and I think I have a higher tolerance for what most people would consider bad games. For instance, there's a lot of less than amazing games for the NES, but they're still pretty cheap, so it's not a huge loss. I've played and own Urban Champion, Tecmo's Tag Team Wrestling and Hydlide for the NES. All three of those games receive a fair amount of criticism. I bought Shaq Fu for the SNES last year to see how bad it was and I didn't get too much enjoyment out of that game. Now, if it's a crappy Wii game that runs $30 or more, I won't get it. [Marcola]
Hi elmiko,I have noticed that i too am very picky regarding my video gaming habit's.There is absolutely no way that i could just pick up a fun game and just mess about with it,I take the whole thing very seriously,I like to play sport simulation and management games,War games,Racing simulation's,Strategy games,I very much look for realism,For me that is what the whole experience is about,The more realistic the game the better the sense of escapism.Also in advance of buying a game i would have to read numerous review's to see if it cut's the mustard,I would never just pick up a game and buy it if i didn't have some idea of how good it is. I find that I am very picky about the games that i play.Lately I seem to only prefer a good RPG or a good RTS Game. Now there are some FPS that I do like, but i need something that ha a story line, that gets me involved with the Characters. Take for example Final Fantasy VII, I have played and beat the game at least 3 times. I have easily logged over 99.99 hours playing the game. Not to long ago my wife bought me Bioshock, which is a first person shooter which throws a different spin on it. For those with the 360, P/c or PS3 should deniftly check it out. [Spectrum380]
In fact I am not so picky to it. As I like playing video games. It's very easy for me to be addicted to it:) The video games like Sims, Sim City etc. are the type of games I like. I also like CS, Red Alert etc. I love China [youless]
