Are You Interested In The Sudoko Craze

Has the number puzzle craze called Sudoko reached your part of the world? It is quite popular here in England. The rules are very simple but with only a few starting numbers lots of different combinations can be achieved. It must be difficult to work out which numbers or how many need to be given for it to be possible to solve it. One of the characters in Coronation Street was doing one waiting to go into court.

It sure has hit Australia now for well over a year.I tried it and it got me frustrated cause if you muck up one line ,you cant solve it and you have to pretty much go over everything again. We got sudokos in newspapers and puzzle books and magazines and also computer games. [keepingfit]
Yes, that is very frustrating. I am only any good at the easy ones. More difficult ones get too confusing. It really is a global craze then. I have awarded you the 'best response'. I hope that does not break any rules if you are the only one! LOL [magicalmerlin]

I am so grateful for suduko, because I suffer with insomnia and I always have a suduko puzzle book beside me whenever I have trouble sleeping, I do a couple of puzzles, number crunching tires my brain out and it helps me to sleep. I used to forgo these puzzles in my puzzler books and would save them for mum who loves doing them, one day she said to me would you like me to teach you how to do them? So she did and I was hooked! So yes I am very interested in and appreciate this great invention! [wolfie34]
I am quite surprised it helps you to sleep. It needs a lot of brain power to concentrate on them and if you are getting sleepy I would have thought you would do them incorrectly. I am glad they help you though. Thank you for your comments. [magicalmerlin]

I love sudoku puzzles. I even have it downloaded on my cellphone. I play them every chance I get. I think it helps me to keep my brain functioning properly. Keeps it working. [ldybgsgma99]
They certainly are very good for that. I need to be able to concentrate fully on them though so being a mum (an now addicted to MyLot) I don't have a lot of time to spend on them. [magicalmerlin]

I have a HUGE book with over 600 puzzles my husband bought for me. He goes around telling people (this woman he works with is an ego maniac and couldn't finish one) so he was very satisfied with himself to put her down by saying.. my wife finishes those in 5 minutes. Which, is true, but boy she was hot under the collar after that...lol. [misheleen73]
and on MyLot as well. How do you cope? Are you actually an octopus not a monkey so that you can do 8 jobs at once? Does your monkey ever get tired of rocking? He must transfer some of his energy to you!!! [magicalmerlin]

Never heard that in Indonesia, maybe i will ask my brother about that in Australia, looks like very confusing but there a challege. Thank you to let me know [little_angel]

I see things about it all over the place, but have never bothered to look into it. I guess I just don't have the time for it. I'll play solitare on the computer while I'm waiting for the internet to connect, but that's about it. Maybe when I'm on a trip or something I'll look into it. [cjthedog64]

i like sudoko and played it frequently [pushpendragold]

Yes!!!! I am completely addicted to Sudoku! I have went through 3 puzzle books full in the last 2 months, and this is besides all the time that I spend on the internet, with the kids, the house, and reading! I love reading! I also use it for when I can't sleep so I sympathize with the other poster that also stated that. The brain power needed just wipes me out when I am actually tired. :) [uniquenorthern]
Wow, are you sure you only have one pair of hands to manage all that. I can't find enough hours in the day at the moment. [magicalmerlin]

Oh yes it has arrived in Germany, too. It is in the daily newspapers, in special little books that one can buy or in the internet. I play it online and medium to advanced difficulty. It is very addictive and puzzeling. Not easy. The online version I play has Asian music. Hard versions usually take me 20 minutes to solve. [Inky261]
That is quick solving. I am really only good enough to do the easy ones but struggle through some medium ones occasionally. It just shows that numbers are a universal language. [magicalmerlin]

To be honest I have heard of it but never tried it. I am not a big puzzle player. However I believe that mind games and puzzles like this can keep your mind sharp even into old age and can help improve mental agility. I think maybe now I think about it I should do more puzzles - sort of use it or lose it. [beaniegdi]
