Are You A 80s 90s Retrogames Fanwhich Videogames Of The Past Do You Remember

HI! This is a discussion that I always wanted to do!!! I'm a videgame lover of 80's and 90's. In my opinion I think videogames of that ages are more interesting of nowdays game with realistic graphic. Maybe I'm addicted to that games because I grow up with them and I have more fun playing them. I used to own lots of consoles: 8 bit nintendo, gameboy, megadrive, 16 bit sega game gear, sega megadrive and 32x that is an expantion for megadrive to transform it in 32 bit. with it I could play Doom on megadrive.amazing! Then I owned a sega saturn and a playstation that is my last console i bought. My favourite one I think It is nintendo 8 bit that was my first real console. And my first and maybe favourite videogame on it was Faxanadu, a fantasy platform adventure where you can buy weapons and shields to make the character stronger. I loved all the Mario Bros series for nintendo expecially the third episode because there was the innovations of mario transforming in animals like frog and racoons and get special abilities. Another cool nintendo game and a bit scary when I was young was Maniac Mansion, a point and click adventure game in style of Monkey Island or Zack McKracken. It was an horror humoristic story and takes place in a mansion where there is a mad doctor that wants to rule the world and took as prisoner a girl. You control the friends of the girl to free her. It is cool because you can control many characters with different skills. They did another episode of it "the day of tentacle" that came out for personal computers. Of megadrive I loved Shining Force maybe it is one of the best adventure rpg game in stile of zelda/final fantasy (the old ones). I have lot of videogames in my mind to let you know, but I'll keep on to write them when you will post here. I think It would be great to remind the glory past of 80's 90's videogames. So I ask you which games of the past do you loved? I'd be very happy to get your responses about it.

i'm a passionate gamer, i love games, right now i own a ps2 and i'm trying to get an xbox 360 now, i love the games of today cuz they are so real and so challenging, yet sometimes i can't help myself and catch myself playing Dr.mario with my sisters or 90 tank with my father, and i can still save the princess in super mario. Some games never grow old. They're still fun to play. [vega83]
I think 80's and 90's videogames are the best. They will never die! [jamz82]

Hi jamz well i played a lot of games in the 80īs but to remember all the names makes me crazy in the head. I didnīt have one of them consoles in that time but my youngest brother has all nintendo cosoles. I played more on the commodore 64. Good games i still remember are Decathlon, Hyper Olympics, Galaga, Phenix, Frogger, Donkey Kong, Cabal, Maniac Miners, Giana Sisters, River Raid, Vengeance, Pole Position, Pac Man, Battle Field and sure Mario Bros & the Zelda games in the 90īs. I maybe get to remember more by thinking a little more about it. I was also one of them kids who went into the pups back room to play on the big game machines, o brother my mom found out about that i think i was about 13 and she catched me one day in a pup and boy i was pulled out there from her, she was really mad about me being in those places. The thing is we had a big drug scene that time in our city in 1982 and she was scarred that her little boy would may be try some out but i never did, imagine i was 13 i didnīt even think of drug abuse. This sure has changed for the todays generation of youngsters. ps. Great topic jamz i like thinking back on all that 80īs stuff i sure come back on this one. [Lewah69]

Does old Dragon Quest counts? lol I was used to play this old Nintendo's Dragon Quest lots.I really liked the plot and I remember I was playing often since at that time we didn't have a memory card(Now we can save when we want to but you knwo what I mean in back then....lol) [ruby1459]
yea! It is a good game. I like that kind of game. And I read some Dragon quest's manga too. I liked the graphic and the plot. It was great time when there were those games without memory card. Inside the cartidge there was a memory where you could store data saves. [jamz82]

I've played many games from the 80s and 90s. Games like the early Zelda games, Mario ones, Megaman, and so many others. Double Dragon games I've gotten into playing some and the early Castlevania games. Sonic games I enjoyed when I got to them play on the Genesis. There's probably a lot more than I'm mentioning and of course can't forget some of the puzzle games like Dr. Mario and Tetris. Even the Donkey Kong Classic game was pretty fun to play at the time. [babostwick]
Great games! I like them all! Lately I used to play to the first zelda for nes! I've genesis too, it is a great console but my favourite one is nintendo 8 bit! there are all classics, mario bros, zelda, bubble bobble and so on. [jamz82]

hi my favorite of all games is PacMan. and then when Mrs. PacMan came out, i loved it also. i also like Mario Brothers. and remember Donkey Kong? i used to love to go to the arcade to play that also. oh the memories....:) have a wonderful day! [RLFinNash]
yes it was;) my favourite one is Super Mario Bros 2 for Nintendo 8 bit! It is funny because you can choose four characters: Mario, Luigi, Princess and Toad. My favourite one was Princess because she can make high jumps and with her you can reach places which other characters couldn't! [jamz82]

I realy liked the Mario Bros games on the GB, but i'm more of a playstation nostalgic. Mortal Combat on the Sega Genesis also brings back some memories :P [Grndr101]
Mario made the history of videogames! I never get bored playing it. Mortal Kombat is another classic, I remember when I used to play with megadrive and gameboy to challenge my friends! we'd great times! [jamz82]

I used to have the really old nintendo with the cartiges, I had super mario brothers, tetris, dr.mario, and on the comp one of my first games and favorite was DOOM...... [warhammerwarrior20]
Woah Doom! What a great game! I love it so much expecially the second one! Lately I'm playing it multiplayer. You can have more fun playing against people from all around the world! I love "capture the flag" challenge on Doom II multiplayer. [jamz82]

I think Mario ruled the 80's! It was, and still is, a simple, repetitive game, that people never get sick of it! Who would imagine that jump over bad looking mushrooms and get in pippes could be so fun... [magaldi]
Yes you 're right. it is repetitive but still so addicting! eheh I still play it but the new version on nintendo ds. [jamz82]

I used to play video games a lot during my younger days, and the game I enjoyed the most playing was Mario bros.. I also liked playing Spartan a lot, that was even more fun... [Lifeless]

Oh, oh! I'm a passionate lover of Monkey Island saga, although I think the first two where the best ever. I'm also quite a fan of the very first two Prince of Persia, and lastly Aladdin. Mario Bros. were fine, but I've always sucked at them. XD [tahiel]
yep! Monkey Island was great! Expecially the third one because It has real speech and good graphic. Prince of persia is good but it irritated me because it was so hard to play. Aladdin, I love it because I loved the movie too. [jamz82]

I remember there was a game called prehistoric or something like that and there was this prehistoric man with a big bat and he was walking true the woods and collecting stuff. I wish I could find this game and play it agan. My father was a big fan of the game dyna where you had to place a bomb to kill different creatures and the bomb would explode after few seconds so it could kill you too. I prefer those old games.
