20 Questions

My niece got this game for Christmas from her grandmother. I figured, ok it would be something like the old magic 8 ball so many of us had. There would be no way it could guess what I'm thinking. Yeah right. I've found it gets it right about 95% of the time. That's pretty good in my opinion. It's a lot of fun. Has anyone here tried it? If so what were some of the things it guessed correctly for or that it did guess wrong on?

I did one at work before when my coworker brought one in. I can't remember the question but it was right! Hard to believe but it was. My son got one for christmas this year and the kids love to play it [brightbluesea]
It didn't get it the first time but did the second. Perhaps by the difference in how we answered the questions. The first time it was very late at night but the next day we were more awake. [emeraldisle]

One of my sons got the 20 Questions game this past holiday also. When I first told my partner about it...he thought that there was no way it would guess what he was thinking of. But I explained that he had to think about the question before answering...because you have to answer as honestly and correctly as possible. It has guess correctly, Watch, paper clip, cake, and bike. But for some reason...it doesn't seem to answer Apple correctly. Nor, mushroom. But it does pretty darn good at the majority of the guesses!!! The game is very cool. LOL :) [brokentia]
My mom was trying to explain it to us and I admit I had my doubts but it does work. I'm surprised it didn't get apple. Now somethings I have found it gets very specific on. Like I was thinking of flower and it came up with daisy. [emeraldisle]

yes my daughter has it she had it for a gift the christmas before last.and it's really fun I don't know what happened to it right now [coco526]

I was in the store with my exgirlfriend (who i still like) and i tried it thinking of her. It guessed Soulmate... kinda' ironic. My brother was thinking of giraffe once, and it got it in 22 or so guesses. They're pretty cool thingers. [Hipponater]
Aren't they though? They are a lot of fun to play. It's addictive too. You get started and don't want to stop, kind of like Mylot :) [emeraldisle]

I got one for my daughter for Christmas, and I was amazed when it guessed "Tornado". It's a great toy! [cognigen]

my kids have this game. one night last week when the power went out we played. It was a lot of fun. It guesses right, but in a general sense. We also tried playing as thought the answer was ourselves. It told me I was a soul mate. Isn't that sweet?? [Jahnya]
OH I bet that would be a fun one to play when the lights are out. Since it is lit up you don't have to worry if it's dark in the house. Yeah I think that is sweet. What did it say about the kids though? [emeraldisle]

I haven't heard of it but it sounds interesting.I will have to look for it at Walmart.I had one of the 8 Balls as a kid and loved it. Stephanie [dragonryder]
This is electronic and will actually ask you different questions. You then push either yes, no, sometimes, or unknown to the question. It guess at 20 but if it gets it wrong it will try again till it gets to 25 I think. If it doesn't know it then you win. [emeraldisle]

My niece got one of those. It is pretty darn accurate. I was amazed. How does this thing work? I refuse to let myself wonder too long about it. It is not good to set my brain into think mode. [ElusiveButterfly]
Yeah if I thought about it too long I'd probably burn out some brain cells. I don't know how it works either but it does it. [emeraldisle]

I have never heard of that game but it sounds intriguing. I would be interested to see what it is like. I am a major skeptic about such things and I have to see it to believe it. Maybe I will come across it one day and see for myself. [arr_781984]
I don't blame you I was a skeptic as well. They sell them at Toys R Us and also Wal-Mart. I'm sure it's available elsewhere as well. It had a test thing on it so you could try before buying. [emeraldisle]

My daughter borrowed this from a friend and I tried it out. The two things it guessed that I thought it never would was a black hole and a platypus!!! On the other hand it couldn't figure out a screwdriver and a necklace??? Go figure. But overall yeah, it is right about 95% of the time. Kinda freaky actually. [Wii_H8ter]
I agree it is kind of freaky. Fun but freaky. [emeraldisle]

Yes this game is very fun indeed. i am sure it a simple program, but the fact that it is right so many times, suprises most people. [mortimas]

Sounds like a fun game!!! I'll have to check it out! My kids (teens) and I need something to do for our family night! [hockeygal4ever]
It would be a good one to have for family night. I could just imagine how much fun it would be then. [emeraldisle]

My nephew got one at Christmas too! We all sat around trying to stump it, but it was almost always right! It's amazing to think that with just 20 questions, you can figure out what a person is talking about. [Bev1986]
I know what you mean. Yeah I've had it go to 25 but still I wouldn't think it could be gotten from so few questions. It's not like when you are playing against a human and can see facial expersions to help you along with it. [emeraldisle]

Hey I got this game about 2 or 3 years ago. There are several versions of it. Which one did you play? There's a hand held one and a big one that I know about. I have the big one. And it is right almost all of the time as well. I can't remember specific ones it has gotten wrong, but it does get ones right such as toothpaste and stuff like that. I agree with you, it is a ton of fun! [dopey22girl]
It actually came with both but we've only played with the hand held so far. Makes me wonder how the large one will be. [emeraldisle]

Twenty Questions gives me the shivers. How does it do that? My husband thought it was malarky untill he tried it as well. It made a believer out of him. I wonder if I had my own if I would spend more time with it or on MyLOt....it's a toss up! [AskAlly]
Well I spend more time on here but when I take a break it's easy to pick it up and see what if it will guess what I'm thinking. [emeraldisle]

It love that game to game, too; I also got it for Christmas even though I'm 30 years old. It's addictive and great for those annoying long bus rides to fruitless job interviews (can tell I'm bitter?). It didn't get avocado or beach. It got novel (I thought that was the neatest thing). [cripfemme]

I had heard about this game, and was going to try to get it for someone for a christmas gift, but I couldn't find it any where, I guess it was so popular this christmas that it became the gift to give, I think I may get it for my niece for her birthday should be easier not alot of gift buying during the spring. Thanks for sharing your opinion on this game, I was wondering if it was all hype. [nowment]
It's a great game. We have the full sized version here but you know we haven't played it yet, just the hand held one. It's addictive but so much fun. I think your niece will like it along with her parents. [emeraldisle]
